Digital Product Passport
www.brandupfactory.com/apps/product-passportEU product passports for fashion brands.
The EU Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR) will require Digital Product Passports for textiles; the delegated act is expected in 2027. France's AGEC rules and the EU ban on generic environmental claims already apply today. Fashion brands need structured product data now, not a spreadsheet the week before the deadline.
Digital Product Passport records fibre composition, recycled share, substances of concern, processing countries, care, repair and end of life for every product. Each passport is published on the shop's own domain in 11 languages, with a QR code for the label, machine-readable JSON and a versioned SHA-256 checksum. The app is in production and has been submitted to the Shopify App Store.

The Challenge
Passports are coming
The ESPR delegated act for textiles is expected in 2027. Brands need structured data on materials, origin and end of life for every product before then.
Rules that already apply
France's AGEC law and the EU ban on generic environmental claims (Directive (EU) 2024/825, since 27 September 2026) apply today.
Many markets, many languages
A passport has to be readable for shoppers in every market and machine-readable for retailers, marketplaces and software.
Data scattered everywhere
Composition, countries, substances and care live in supplier sheets and PDFs, not in a structure that can be checked and published.
Our Solution
Structured textile passport
Fibre composition per part, recycled and organic share, SVHC with CAS numbers, processing countries, care, durability, repair and end of life, from fixed lists.
On the shop's own domain
Passport pages via Shopify's App Proxy in 11 languages, with JSON for every passport. They stay online even if the product is deleted.
QR codes and GS1 Digital Link
QR codes as SVG and PNG for hangtags and care labels; GS1 Digital Link with GTIN check-digit validation from Pro.
Checks before it goes live
Publishing stays blocked until required data is complete; the editor warns about generic environmental claims. French environmental cost via the Ecobalyse API.

How it works
From product data to a scannable passport.
Add your company data
Fill in the economic operator details once: legal name, address, operator ID, EORI and EPR numbers. They appear on every passport.
Create and publish passports
Enter composition, countries, substances, care and end of life. The completeness check shows what is missing, then publish. Or fill many at once by CSV import.
Show it to shoppers
Print the QR code on the labels and add the theme block to the product pages. Shoppers open the passport on the shop's domain, in their language.
